Two exciting announcements to share! First, I'm thrilled to announce my third pattern is available on the Moda Bakeshop blog. This pattern was created using a new fabric line, Flight, by Janet Clare. The fabric is gorgeous, with deep reds and blues and lovely small scale prints. There are planes, clouds, an awesome diagonal stripe and all sorts of goodness.
My pattern is called "Runway" and it's inspired by the markings on a runway. I particularly enjoyed photographing this quilt. A trip to the Outer Banks coincidentally coincided with the completion of the project, so I took some photos of it at the Wright Brother Memorial in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. What a perfect backdrop!
After peeking at the pattern, I know you'll want some Flight fabric of your very own. I had some pieces leftover, which the awesome folks at Moda kindly allowed me to offer as a giveaway!
To be entered to win, simply use the Rafflecopter widget below and leave a comment telling me about the best trip you've ever taken or a trip you've been daydreaming about taking. The prize is five fat quarters of Flight fabric in the delicious cream colorway.
I'll randomly select a winner on July 30. U.S. residents 18 and older only, please.

The best trip I have ever taken was to Ireland. The people were so friendly, they made you want to stay. Beautiful scenery and lots to do, finished out a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite trip was a vacation out west to Yellowstone, Glacier, Redwood and Rocky Mountain National Parks. We went with our 4 kids and we have a lot of happy memories from that trip. FLYING across the country with 4 kids was also a memory....ok, so that was fun too!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite trip was to Australia where our daughter with husband and 2 grandsons live. I love to see them in real, hug them kis them etc.
ReplyDeleteMy best trip so far was when I went white water rafting in Costa Rica and had a lovely lunch in a tropical park with beautiful wildlife everywhere. I would love a dream vacation to Bali and take a National Geographic trip to the Galapagos Islands.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE this quilt pattern! It reminds me of a favorite uncle who served in the Air Force and was a pilot in his younger years. The love of flying has never left him.
ReplyDeleteI have ALWAYS wanted to go to Spain--I have a long list of things I want to do or see there. I tease my husband that if I ever get to Spain he may never get me back home!
My favorite trips have been to Hawaii. Loved both Maui and Kauai. The beaches/water was gorgeous, the whales were so neat to see and the waterfalls and hiking was beyond amazing..ahh...I'm ready to go back!
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful trip last summer where I was able to take my kids to the exact place your pictures were taken. It was wonderful to be able to show them more of the Wright brothers history. Now they have been to Kitty Hawk, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum to see the wonderful Wright brothers exhibit, and to Greenfield Village where the Wright's bicycle shop is now located.
ReplyDeleteThe best trip I've taken was a Mediterranean cruise to western Europe. It was a celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary. It was totally awesome to visit so many places we only read about in books. Next, we want to visit Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to say what my best trip has been. I've lived in 7 countries outside of the US and visited many more. All trips whether in Europe, Africa, Australia or around the USA have been wonderful, but the best trip with all of them is coming back home to Virginia and family. That being said...the travel bug is still there and I would like to see Iceland, as well as the National Parks throughout the USA.
